In the previous blog entry and video I made - I recommend Brad Callen’s Directory Submitter to everyone who want to almost automatically submit their websites to hundreds or thousands of blogs on the Internet.
Well, I am going to actually test that software out with this very own blog! I’ve already used Brad’s directory submitter on a few web forums that I own. I’ve managed to get quite a few high PR back links already but the real results will show in the next 3-6 months. A lot of the directories that you submit to won’t post your link until a good 3+ months has passed.
I will start using directory submitter tonight and then every week afterwards, I will update you on the number of back links that I have been able to generate. I can already almost guarantee that the results will be phenomenal as I mentioned earlier that I have already managed to get some of my web forum links on my high PR pages.
Stay tuned for my updates…
Cheers,
Drew
This is the first of many video tutorials that show you how to generate high
quality "one way" back links to your website". This is pretty much a basic
method as many of you probably have already heard of or used this
technique in the past. For those of you that don’t know this pretty neat tactic
you are about to learn the entire process. Over the coming months, I will post
more advanced video tutorials on how to create even more back-links to your
website.
The method is pretty simple. Say you wanted to generate some backlinks to your
site about dog training. Simply go to Google and search for something similar to
this:
"dog training" "submit a link". Then filter through all of the many results
and manually submit your link to all of the websites that allow you to submit a
link to their website. Generally, you will find literally thousands of sites
that have the option to submit a link to their site. When you submit your link
to all of these websites it is very important that you make your titles relavent
to your website because this is the anchor text the the text that Google gives
your website credit for. You can literally do this for any niche just by
replacing "dog training" with any other keywords or niche phrases such as "golf
swing tips" "submit a link" or "affiliate marketing" "submit a link".
Additionally, you can find even more sites that will allow you to submit a link
to their website just by replacing "submit a link" with "add a link" or "suggest
a link".
I have created a video tutorial on how this entire process works:

Cool
I’m launching a new PhpBB photography forum within the next couple of weeks. I’ve found some really cool PhpBB SEO mods and would like to share with you the concept of search engine optimizing your web forum.
Session ID’s
If you run PhpBB you already know that you always get those session id’s in your url and believe me… they are very, very nasty! Google hates those and you must remove them for at least the bots.
.php extensions
Everyone knows that static html pages get ranked much easier and higher than ordinary .php pages. You can easily use mod_rewrite to transform your php pages into static html. This is a must if you run a web forum! There is a mod (link below) that will transform your thread urls to include your thread title in the URL. Here is an example of a regular phpBB board thread URL:
—————-Regular phpBB board—————-
Joe makes a new thread titled “Adobe Photoshop Help”
The url will then look something like this:
http://www. yoursite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7736
—————————————————–
—————Optimized phpBB board————–
Joe makes a new thread titled “Adobe Photoshop Help”
The url will then look something like this:
http://www. yoursite.com/forum/adobe-photoshop-help-t5.html
—————————————————–
As you can see the optimized phpBB thread would rank higher than the unmodified phpBB threads because it has they keywords right in the URL (something that the serps love).
Duplicate Content
If you are running an unmodified version of PhpBB then chances are you getting duplicate content indexed in the serps. This is because when the robots crawl your forum they are not only crawling the actual threads but they are also crawling through posters names which eventually lead to the “find all post by this person” which looks like this: www.yourforum .com/forum/search.php?do=finduser&u=992929
This is just one of the many duplicate content flaws that PhpBB has with their default installation package.
Meta Tags
Regular PhpBB boards don’t have dynamic meta tag integration. You need to optimize your forum so it automatically adds targeted meta tags to each one of your forums topics. The modification automatically pulls keywords from the posts and places them in the meta tags.
Titles
Unmodified boards place useless words in your thread URL’s. An original phpBB board has titles that look like the following:
“YourWebsite.com - Forum :: View Topic - Your Threat Title”
As you can see the words “forum” and “view topic” are completely useless! You can easily remove these useless words and modify it so your titles will look like this:
“YourWebsite.com - Your Subforum Category - Your Topic Title”
I’ll give you another example of what this modification will do:
Joe makes a thread titled “Internet Marketing eBooks” inside the “Internet Marketing” category of your forum. The modded version of phpbb will create a title that looks this:
“YourWebsite.com - Internet Marketing - Internet Marketing eBooks” <—- much better!
There is a modification that you can download that will do all of this SEO for you! And it takes less than twenty minutes to install! And best of all.. its 100% free.
SEO your PhpBB forum at the following URL:
http://www.phpbb-seo.com
I am not sure if anyone has created a Vbulletin version of an SEO modification… if someone knows where one is please post inside a comment.
Example of a SEO’d PhpBB webforum
Soon I will be launching a forum related to the photography niche. I did all the basic SEO work on the site but I havn’t did any other seo yet (backlinks, etc.) - Since I havn’t launched the forum yet there are no members and no pagerank currently. I will update you guys over the next few months how the ranking go with Google. You can view this unlaunched photography forum below:
Photography Forum
I got the idea for the subforum names from GFY.com and eweath.com
BTW, if you havn’t already checked out ewealth.com go there now! I rank it as the number one Affiliate Marketing web forum on the internet. You can visit ewealth below:
http://www.ewealth.com … tell them CBniche referred you.
Alright, it’s almost midnight… im off to bed.
